This Japanese restaurant on via Ostiense is well placed for visitors to the collection of antique statues in the adjacent Centrale Montemartini. Though the food is classic Japanese, the ambience is pure neighbourhood trattoria - except details like a gloriously kitsch sushi clock. The sashimi, sushi and stuffed vegetables are all good, and the tempura is well worth the extra wait. Prices are reasonably low, and it's always packed with locals, so book ahead, especially if you're going out of your way to get here.
