Politicians and mandarins from the parliament buildings nearby lounge in the sumptuous tearoom of this temple to Neapolitan goodies, while lesser mortals bolt coffees at the counter. The rum babà reigns supreme, but ricotta lovers rave over the crunchy sfogliatella, flavoured with cinnamon and orange peel, and the pastiera, a rich tart filled with ricotta, orange-flower water, citrus peel and whole grains of wheat.
