Time Out chosen to build app for new Amazon Fire phone
First project for newly established innovation division of Time Out - Time Out Labs
Friday 20th June, Date 2014, London:
Time Out announced today that it was amongst the partners selected to produce one of the first apps for the new device. A combined team from Time Out Labs and UI Centric were tasked with building a user experience that took full advantage of the Fire Phone features.
The head tracking and 3D capabilities of the phone enabled the team to create some unique and eye catching interactions. The motion and gesture controls allowed the creation of a clean and uncluttered user interface by giving the user access to detailed information, options and menus with a simple flick of the phone.
Dave Cook, CDO Time Out Group said, “Our audience are socially active, mobile savvy and early adopters of technology, so it is a perfect match for us and this ground-breaking handset development. It was a great first project for the newly formed Time Out Labs team and the team from UI Centric were as reliable as ever.”
Dan Ulzhoefer, CEO, UI Centric said, “We’ve been working with Time Out now for over a year on a variety of projects, including the development of their soon to be released responsive design website; combining elements of the new mobile responsive experience with the next step in customer viewing technology for phones was truly exciting.”
