Vooges

A big bow window lets light in to every nook and cranny of this classy, split-level bar. Inside, décor is simple yet self-conciously styish - a '50s Juliette Greco poster, '70s chairs, '20s chandeliers - rather like Vooges' patrons. The slightly older, moneyed crowd come for post-work or pre-theatre drinks, food from the mod-European menu, or to while away an evening drinking from the compact, well-priced wine list. There is also a sophisticated seaside version, Vooges Strand, on the beach in Zandvoort.
