The latest venture from Brendan van de Ruit, formerly the manager of Reguliersdwarsstraat stalwart Exit, Taboo is hoping to breathe a little life back into what has come to be considered an ailing district in recent years. In some ways, it’s just another gay bar – it plays Cher, and is festooned in rainbows – but what the place lacks in mould-breaking sparkle, it makes up for with decent prices.
