New Israel Fund says
National security stands firmly at the forefront of every Israel supporter’s mind. It is a litmus test for leadership in Israeli society, which often assumes that a hawkish stance is the most effective. What may come as a surprise to many, particularly non-Israelis, is that the voices most critical of Israeli security policies come from those who best understand the country’s security situation: senior veteran officers and officials of the IDF, Mossad, Shin Bet and Police.

Join us for a conversation about the current state of Israeli security with Brig. General (res) Gadi Zohar, board member of CPS, Aviv Feigel, CEO of CPS, Shana Tabak, visiting Assistant Professor at Georgia State University College of Law, and Shai Robkin, chair of the NIF Atlanta Regional Council.

This event is free to the public. Please RSVP to guarantee your spot: https://wfc2.wiredforchange.com/o/8678/p/salsa/event/common/public/?event_KEY=72544

About our Speakers and NIF:

Brig. General (res) Gadi Zohar is board chair of the Council for Peace and Security. As a distinguished IDF veteran with over 30 years of service, he has held a number of senior roles, including Director of the Civil Administration in the West Bank, and was a member of the Israeli negotiating team at Oslo in 1993.

Aviv Feigel, CPS CEO, has held a number of senior positions in the IDF, including Director of the District Coordination Office in the Bethlehem area (2003-2007) and Hebron (2007-2010). Feigel was intimately involved with the peace process, having formulated IDF positions on Israeli-Palestinian negotiations and participated directly in the final status talks at Camp David in 2000.

Shai Robkin, chair of the NIF Atlanta Regional Council, is a dual American/Israeli citizen and veteran of the IDF who served in the West Bank, Lebanon, and Sinai during his regular and reserve service.

Shana Tabak is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Georgia State University College of Law. She teaches and writes in the areas of international law, asylum and refugee law, and human rights.
