Please join us for an evening with documentary filmmaker salim Essaid to view several of his short documentaries and enjoy engaging discussions about culture and key issues in Arab and Arab American society.

Salim currently works as a news editor at CNN International in Atlanta, Georgia. Roles include news gathering, working with reporters on the ground, and covering the Mideast region while it’s awake. Previously he worked as a producer at the Associated Press in Washington D.C. generating stories on national and international breaking news. Also reporting and filming feature stories with a focus on Middle East/Arab issues. Before that Salim worked at TIME magazine, studied Japanese/Arabic at UCLA, and then broadcast journalism at Columbia University. He grew up in the Gulf, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, then studied medicine prior to choosing to become a journalist.
