Celebrating excellence in Georgia’s high school musical theatre programs! Fashioned after Broadway’s Tony Awards, the Georgia High School Musical Theater Awards – Shuler Hensley Awards celebrate excellence in high school musical theater. The 2015 Shuler Awards are open to any Georgia high school that produces a full-length, musical theater production for a public audience between October 1 and March 21 in the 2014-15 school year. A volunteer adjudication panel comprised of performing arts professionals and community leaders evaluate participating high school musicals throughout the season. Excellence is recognized in 17 categories, including Leading Actress, Leading Actor, Best Musical, Scenic Design, Music Direction, Technical Execution, Show Stopper and Choreography. Shuler Awards and scholarships are presented at a televised, formal ceremony at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, beginning with a glamorous red carpet event, on April 23, 2015.
