Grassland String Band says
Grassland String Band (GSB) is returning to Red Clay to celebrate the release of their EP, The Echo Mountain Sessions. Tracked live by engineer Julian Dreyer (Band of Horses, Avett Brothers) during an epic snowstorm, the album marks a new direction for the band that is unrestrained by the paradigms of any particular genre. In it, you'll find inspired moments of acoustic introspection, roller coaster twin fiddle and guitar leads, gospel fueled pleas, and soulful invocations enhanced by guest Hammond B3 master Ike Stubblefield.

Finalists in the Atlanta Braves Band of the Year Competition and the Flagpole Athens Music Awards, GSB was featured on the Main Stage at Athfest 2016. Their track “American Flag” is included in the Athfest 20th Anniversary Compilation CD alongside Grant Cowan's single, "Cover to Cover".

Grant Cowan consistently charms audiences with his signature brand of jazz influenced piano pop. With impressive and genre-blending facility on piano, a warm and shining vocal tone, and a wonderful sense of humor, Grant brings spectacular energy to his live show. His insightful and clever lyrics create a wonderful and refreshing pop authenticity. Grant Cowan's anthems to youth are a sparkling contrast to the sophisticated, clean production of his debut EP Cover to Cover. His playful and moving pop tunes are the perfect backdrop for a night drive in Georgia, your first kiss, or the coming of age movie about your life.

Grant is the 2016 Flagpole Athens Music Award Winner in the Singer/Songwriter category.
