New Israel Fund Start Up Nation says
The Atlanta Regional Council of the New Israel Fund invites you to meet one of Israel’s most successful Arab Israeli high-tech entrepreneurs, Reem Younis. For a variety of reasons, Arab Israelis are significantly under-represented in this all so important segment of the Israeli economy. Reem, an NIF board member, will share the story of her personal success and her efforts to help others in her community overcome the barriers to full integration into the “Start-Up Nation.” Reem will be joined in conversation by A.J.Robinson, President, Central Atlanta Progress and member of the NIF Atlanta Regional Council.

Many of you watched David Broza’s film, East Jerusalem/West Jerusalem, which was sponsored by NIF at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival. Broza’s efforts to bring together Arabs and Jews offer a ray of hope during these difficult times. However, Israeli Arab citizens of Israel, while equal under Israeli law, continue to face numerous challenges to full integration into Israeli society and to the sharing of the country’s economic prosperity. The economic, social, and educational development of Israel’s primary minority has been deemed essential to Israel’s economic health and social cohesion. In 2013, Prime Minister Netanyahu declared that “much of our future growth will come from integrating Israeli citizens from the Arab sector in the country’s economy.”
