The Atlanta Press Club says
The Atlanta Press Club and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights will host an exclusive screening of Cartoonists – Foot Soldiers of Democracy on April 14.

The film, which garnered praise at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, follows 12 political cartoonists from around the world who defend democracy with pencils as their only weapon. By exploring and contrasting the artists’ work and experiences, director Stéphanie Valloatto outlines the necessity for the artists’ journalistic commentary and shows how world leaders are censoring cartoons because of the power they wield.

A discussion of the film and its themes will follow immediately after the screening.
