Time Out says
Come to a FREE ART workshop being given at East Lake Commons on Saturday, Jan 31 and Sun. Feb.1 Become part of Atlanta's historical movement toward Justice and Peace. Invite Social Justice Minded Artists and non artists.
We will paint and design of peace poles that will be displayed on the National Mall the 4th of July. When the poles return, they will be gifted to the city and placed between the Carter Center, the King Center and the Center for Civil and Human Rights. Your names and organizations will be on them.
The project will be led by Kira Corser of California, a nationally known social justice artist.
Each pole will depict a belief or tenant found in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that you and your team have created. At the end of the workshop, it is our hope you will be equip with tools to continue the project at your home, business and/or place of work, with a variety of tools to help lead discussions.
