The South maintains some of the most coveted cuisine in the world, and we here at Preserving Place love to talk all about it. Southern cuisine came mostly out of the traditions of working long hours in hot conditions so the cuisine had to be able to provide calories to maintain a day's worth of energy. We're excited to showcase to make a class dedicated to the art of Southern sides. Our very own Sarah Dodge and Julia Schneider of Octane Coffee will join together to show the art and pleasure of traditional macaroni + cheese, creamed corn, collard greens, fried okra, cheese grits, and succotash. We'll also prep some fried chicken and sit down to enjoy a delicious southern dinner dinner after we finish cooking.
