Time Out says

5 out of 5 stars

An exotic cocktail bar, restaurant and live music venue, evoking the spirit of Havana with its authentic decor and collection of 130 rums.

The Bull’s Head is dead. Long live the Cuban Embassy! The heritage building at the heart of vibrant Moseley now houses Birmingham’s premier rum destination, with Latin musicians providing a live soundtrack.

After a painstaking refurbishment, everything from the intricate Spanish tiles to the wrought iron chandeliers recalls a moody Cuban nightspot.

Behind the bar, you’ll find a sprawling selection of over 130 rums. The bartenders are on hand not only to pour, but also to give tips and recommendations - they know their stuff here. After all, this is the home of the annual Birmingham Rum Festival.

Cocktails range from the Banana Daiquiri (£7) to the Cubata (£7) with aged rum and fresh lime. You could do far worse than a classic Ron Old Fashioned (£8), a time-honoured blend of Havana Club seven year-old rum, sugar, angostura bitters, orange zest and maraschino cherry.

The menu of tapas and small plates includes treats like Slow Cooked Beef Shin in a Rich Tomato Sauce (£5.95) and Lollipop Prawn in Honey Cake (£5.95)
