Wiff waff, ping pong, table tennis – call it what you will but from Friday June 26 Ping! Brum will be bringing the sport to the people with a whole summer of free games, taking place at several locations across the city.

Last year the annual outdoor ping pong festival, organised by Ping! England, saw more than 750 tables placed up and down the country, allowing anyone to just turn up and have a go.

This year, Ping! Brum has set up tables at Birmingham Library, MADE, The Square (Oasis Market), Broadway Plaza, Custard Factory, Birmingham LGBT Centre, Aston University, Woodcock Street, Chinese Community Centre and Calthorpe Park.

Bats and balls are supplied – all you've got to do is play!

In addition to the free-play games, Ping! Brum will also be running a series of events throughout the summer. Activities, which include classes and competitions, will be taking place every Thursday and Friday at the Markets, every Monday at The Arcadian and every Thursday at Priory Square throughout July and August.

Ping! Brum launches on June 26 in the Birmingham Markets, from 11am-3pm. The festival runs until August 31. Head to the website to find out more.
