We already know that Birmingham is a fantastic city for foodies, boasting more Michelin starred restaurants than any city in England outside London. Today it was reveal that Carters of Moseley has become the fifth venue to secure this prestigious award.

Published in the new 'Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2016', it was also revealed that Birmingham's four other award winning restaurants – Simpsons in Edgbaston, Purnells on Cornwall Street, Turners in Harborne and Adam's on Bennett Hill – have also retained their Michelin stars.

Led by head chef and proprietor Brad Carter, Carters of Moseley was just one of 15 new venues to be awarded the accolade across Great Britain and Ireland.

First launched in 2010, the restaurant on Wake Green Road can add the Michelin star to its already bulging award cabinet. Along with two AA rosettes, Carters of Moseley was also awarded the UK Readers' Restaurant of the Year award by the Good Food Guide in 2014 and have since be considered one of Square Meal's Top 100 UK Restaurants, and one of the National Restaurant Awards' Top 100 in 2015.
