Eight unique wedding venues in Birmingham

Wedding season is fast approaching, and engaged couples all over Birmingham will be looking for the perfect venue in which to hold their nuptials. The city has a fantastic selection of beautiful churches and hotels that can host weddings, but if you're looking for something a little bit different, there's something for you too.

Here are eight unusual wedding venues for the betrothed of Birmingham to consider:

1. The Bond Company

If you want to get hitched in the historical heart of Birmingham, the Bond Company is a desirable option. Surrounded by Victorian buildings and facing onto the city's famous canals, it's little wonder that the Bond Company has been voted one of Birmingham's top five wedding venues.

2. The Electric Cinema

One for the movie lovers, the UK's oldest cinema hosts unique weddings, with glamorous art deco surroundings. Being a cinema, couples can incorporate their own customised movie posters into the venue's decor, or even use the cinema screen to show personalised films!

  

3. The Botanical Gardens

If you're a fan of nature, this is the venue for you. There are two separate spaces where couples can get married, surrounded by beautiful gardens, and an award winning caterer to wow your guests with their culinary delights.

Plus, by having your wedding at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, you're also making a charitable contribution towards the upkeep of the gardens.

4. Fazeley Studios

Fazeley Studios are perfect for those who want a city centre wedding with a difference. Located in Digbeth, the studios encompass a variety of different spaces, including a restored Unitarian chapel, a beautiful courtyard and the Old Ikon Gallery, which can be used for a wedding breakfast.

Wedding guests can hire the entire space for the whole day, making it an intimate and unique venue.

5. The Old Library

This beautiful restored library, also located in Digbeth, is a wonderful blend of the traditional and modern. Built in 1866, the Old Library combines original stained windows and vaulted ceilings with an open plan space – great for creating your own seating arrangements.

6. The REP Theatre

If you love to tread the boards, then where would be more perfect place to get hitched than at the REP? The Birmingham Repertory Theatre can cater for both large and intimate groups, with suites overlooking Centenary Square. The REP offers a suitably dramatic and picturesque setting for your nuptials.

7. St. Andrew's Stadium

Football clubs have always been popular venue choices for football mad couples, and the grounds at St. Andrew's are no exception. The evening reception venue offers a fun, modern wedding experience, where your guests can check enjoy the company of friends and family while also soaking up a panoramic view of the pitch from the Jasper Carrott Suite, or enjoy a ceremony in the Legends' Lounge. 

8. Town and Symphony Hall

If you want to get married in an historical building, look no further than Birmingham's Town Hall and Symphony Hall. The Grade 1 listed building features a stunning main hall, which will serve as a fantastic backdrop to your wedding. There's also a range of menus available, created especially for the venue.
