Great news for budding builders: the UK's biggest Lego show – BRICK 2015 – is heading to the Birmingham NEC for October 29-November 1.

BRICK is an event that will appeal to Lego lovers of all ages, with more than two million pieces to play with in a huge array of exciting block-based events to engage with.

For example, you could construct your own custom race car and test it out on the special car ramps, help build a huge Lego 'Minecraft' diorama for a Guinness World Record attempt, contribute to a monster Lego mosaic, or simply get creative in the free-form Brick Pit.

Elsewhere, there'll be the chance to play a range of Lego videogames or watch your favourite movie recreated for Brick Flicks (above). Plus, you can discover more about the history of transport or the Seven Wonders of the World (recreated in blocks, obviously), as well as check out what other Lego enthusiasts have built in the Fan Zone.

If you want to add some new blocks to your own collection, there'll also be the chance to buy the latest kits at the Lego Shop, or shop for retro rarities in Brick Lane.

Needless to say, it looks like a fantastic half term event for all the family to get involved with. Just remember to wear your sturdiest shoes – we've all felt the pain of stepping on a rogue block barefoot...

BRICK 2015. October 29-November 1. Birmingham NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. More information and tickets available here
