Prince to play Birmingham show later this year

Reports have revealed that Prince is bringing his Piano and a Microphone tour to four UK cities, including Birmingham, later this year.

In 2014, the music megastar played a sell-out performance at the Birmingham LG Arena with his backing group 3rdeyegirl - the first time he'd headlined a performance in the city for 19 years.

As the tour's name suggests, it's expected that Prince will be putting his guitar aside for a more stripped-back gig. Shows kick off in Austria on November 21 and conclude at Brussels' Royal Circus on December 22, with other UK dates marked for Glasgow, Liverpool and London.

If you're determined to catch the purple one play, make sure you keep an ear to the ground for news of the tickets' release - if past form is anything to go by, they'll will be released at short notice and will sell out instantly.

UPDATE: Prince has now confirmed dates for his tour and will be playing two gigs at Birmingham Symphony Hall on Tuesday December 1 at 5pm and 9pm. Tickets go on sale Friday November 13 and can be purchased here.
