Revamped venue 6 on Broad Street is six clubs in one

Shortly after Bar Risa on Broad Street first opened, the £4 million nightclub and comedy venue was awarded the title of 'Britain's best bar' by the Bar Entertainment & Dance Association.

Since then, the 2,000 capacity venue has appeared in the news on numerous occasions. Sadly, not all of them positive. From questionably-themed Halloween parties, being forced to play host to EDL rallies, as well as numerous assessments of its booze licence, it perhaps made sense for Bar Risa to shake off its sometimes turbulent past and start anew.

On Thursday September 10, the venue will re-launch with a new name – 6 on Broad Street – after a £1 million makeover. This revamped nightspot covers two floors and six rooms, each with its own unique look, atmosphere and music.

Old Turn Junction

First up is the main bar, named Old Turn Junction. This space will be open from 5pm every night with resident DJs getting you warmed up for the rest of the evening. There will also be food on offer, from a menu that includes bar snacks like nachos or chicken wings, as well as more substantial pasta, salad or burger options.

Cabana Bar

From there, you could opt for the Cabana Bar. With a beach theme and relaxed vibe, this is the place for VIPs to enjoy rum cocktails and appropriately chilled-out music.

DownLoad

If winding down is the last thing on your mind, then the DownLoad room will offer a mix of indie and rock music with plenty of space for those who want to mosh...

Delicious

For a more colourful, mainstream experience, Delicious promises 100% pop music, complete with a light-up dance floor and plenty of neon.

Jongleurs Room

And there's no need to worry that 6 on Broad Street has abandoned comedy. The dedicated Jongleurs Room will host comedy every Friday and Saturday night, before becoming a party space that can accommodate hundreds looking to enjoy dance anthems.

Suds 'n' Duds

Most intriguing of all is the final room, Suds 'n' Duds. Giving the illusion that it's a humble laundrette, this is actually a secret speakeasy room. Apparently, you'll need to start looking for a way in on Gas Street.

The launch on Thursday September 10 has been limited to VIPs, but if you can't get onto the guest list, then Friday September 11 will feature a live set from ex-TOWIE star and Heart FM DJ Mark Wright. You can put your name down for the guest list here or otherwise make a booking here.

6 on Broad Street, 259-262 Broad Street, Birmingham, B1 2HF.
