Santa Run is coming to town

While there's no guarantee that you'll be dashing through the snow, you certainly won't have any trouble spotting Saint Nick, as hundreds of runners suit up for a Yuletide run around Birmingham city centre on Saturday December 5.

The 2015 Acorns Santa Run will be the biggest yet and the 5km course will take a route that starts and ends at the Barclaycard Arena. However, if you've already gorged yourself on too many mince pies, you could choose to take things easier with the 2km Santa Stroll instead.

Registration for both events is now open and, whether you choose to run or walk, you'll be able to fundraise for Acorns Children's Hospice, which provides vital support and specialist care for children in need.

Entry for the Santa Run is £15 for adults and £10 for under 16s. A minimum sponsorship of £20 is required. The entry fee will include a Santa suit and a medal to show off to your friends.

While those aged under six will be too small for a Santa suit, they can also take part for free. The route is also wheelchair and pushchair accessible, so there are no restrictions on who'll be able to race.

To sign up, visit the website, call 01564 82 5000 or email events@acorns.org.uk.
