The Yakinori noodle and sushi bar opened its doors yesterday to impressive crowds looking to get a taste of authentic Japanese cuisine.

The restaurant in Selly Oak is located on Bristol Road, positioned between Seoul Plaza and the Sainsbury's Local, and just a stone's throw from the University of Birmingham.

As the 'little sister' of the popular restaurant Woktastic – which was until recently at Paradise Forum (although it will be opening a new venue in the city centre soon) – Yakinori customers can expect a similar dining experience.

Accompanying the noodles and sushi, Yakinori serves a delicious and healthy range of dishes, including teppanyaki, teriyaki, donburi, katsu curry, bento boxes and more. All of which you can choose to watch being prepared by the chefs in the open kitchen.

For those on the move, Yakinori also offers an express service of rice and noodle boxes that offer a satisfying meal, without any of the remorse you might feel after tucking into a more traditional takeaway.

Once the website is fully up and running, you can find out much more about the menu and start planning a fresh and exiting lunchtime treat.
