Time Out says

Affectionately known as The 'Gale, this nightclub has been a staple of the gay community in the Midlands, and beyond, for more than four decades

From very humble beginnings, and after relocating three times, The Nightingale has now grown into one of the UK’s most popular gay superclubs, with bus-loads of LGBT revellers and their friends flocking to the club from all corners of the Midlands for the monthly ‘Midlands Big Gay Night Out’.

One of the largest and best established gay clubs in the UK, The Nightingale boasts three floors of entertainment; whatever kind of night out you crave, The Nightingale will certainly deliver.

The Nightingale features a large dance arena, with some of the most noteworthy names in showbiz regularly gracing its stage, including Charlie XCX, The Saturdays and Miss Dynamite, to name just a few.

Ascend up the spiral staircase to The Nightingale's middle floor, which delivers all the very best in pop, cheese and drag. Adjacent to this is the R&B room, playing urban classics from past and present. Up a further flight of stairs, the top floor features an eclectic mix of dance, drum ’n’ bass and deep house to keep you two-stepping well into the small hours.

On a Thursday, The Nightingale gets ‘Pounded’, a student night with a massive selection of £1 drinks on offer. Gay or not, you’ll be hard pressed not to have fabulous time at ‘The Gale’.
