Organic deli and brunch spot in Bournville, with a veggie-leaning menu and a great garden
What started out as a vegetable cooperative has in ten years transformed into Bournville’s foremost brekkie hub and organic deli. With the most important meal of the day served alongside an array of homemade, wholesome staples until closing, you’ll find young families, patent hangover nursers and ladies that lunch shoulder-to-shoulder at Leverton and Halls.
If the pancakes with crispy bacon and lashing of maple syrup are too sweet for your palate, the vegetarian breakfast is a first-rate choice. Served with L&H’s classic chaana daal together with fried potatoes, peppers, mushrooms and the usual suspects, we think this all-dayer rates among Birmingham’s best for those not inclined towards meat. Insider tip: early in the week, take away boxed up measures of the chaana daal for a luxurious interpretation of the ready meal.
The space is filled with sprouting wheel barrows, an array of cosy sitting and more colour than most garden centres so, if it’s a nice day, take advantage of the café's stunner of a garden for post-gluttony coffee.
