The latest restaurant in the Birmingham area to receive the coveted Michelin Star, Peel’s is housed within an upmarket manor hotel in Solihull. The venue has strong credentials, holding three AA rosettes as well. A succession of locally rooted chefs with ambition have helped to renovate and elevate Peel’s to its current high standard.
The menu focuses on simplicity, with emphasis on sourcing high quality produce to put together informal but well thought out dishes. With a small capacity of just 28 diners, and opening for dinner only, the restaurant prioritises quality over quantity.
Guests are able to make the choice between a la carte or tasting menus which can consist of four or seven courses (£60 - £80). Ingredients on offer include wagyu beef, lobster, mallard and mackerel. Accompanying wine flights are available to complement the gourmet cuisine (£40 - £60).
The a la carte menu includes a popular steak option - rib eye or Chateaubriand. These are served with triple cooked chips or with truffled dauphinoise potatoes. The environment is calculated to be both impressive and relaxing, with elements from local craftsmen and designers brought in to create a sophisticated and homely dining space.
