Mistral
With its stone floors and potted cypresses, sunnily sophisticated Mistral brings a touch of swish Saint Tropez to the edge of the Mass Pike. This place has been on the A-listers' shortlist since it opened. For our part, we wish chef-owner Jamie Mammano would tinker a tad more often with the items on his rarely changing French-Mediterranean menu - exquisite though they may be - and with their ever-rising prices a little less. But the tête-à-têtes among the beauties and powermongers lining the bar are meaty enough to make eavesdropping over cocktails synonymous with feasting.

My favorite restaurant in Boston. Had the most spectacular dinner there, and can't wait to go back. Order any of the fish dishes, particularly the salmon or cod. The Mistral fries and escargots are out of this world. For dessert, order the profiteroles. You will be glad you did. This is a high end place for a special occasion. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time. So delighted with this place and would recommend to anyone.
