Because the city can never have too many oyster bars. The two-floor North Square is a throwback gem, with penny tiles, cafe-style seating, oversized windows and a neon sign out front. Though seasonally driven, the menu does right by the evergreen classics: the clam chowder is notably delicious (and comes in a bread bowl) and the brown butter lobster roll is hard to resist (although the classic mayoed varietal is just as sumptuous). A return trip is required to properly explore the raw bar offerings, including all those Massachusetts oysters, and the seafood-friendly wine list (the tucked away bar in back is the place to drink your way through the small but potent cocktail list).
