As the temperatures heat up, the desire to head to the beach, the park or the backyard for an al fresco meal is sure to also rise. Luckily, there are plenty of amazing meals just a few taps away thanks to GrubHub. Here are six local delivery orders and their best wine pairings you should try this summer in Boston.

1. Double Chin

Sometimes there’s nothing more satisfying than ordering Chinese. And Double Chin offers what you won’t find at others restaurants: creative, innovative takes on classic flavors. The team loves to create east-meets-west fusion mashups, offering dishes like “Poutine Your Mouth,” which are waffle fries topped with kimcheese and furikake; Skillet ‘mac and cheese’, which is Cheesy Wide Rice Noodles with bacon and panko crumbs; and Portuguese chicken rice, made with coconut milk and turmeric cheese. Pair anything cheesy with a dry riesling, and the acidity refreshes your palate so you can keep indulging in the cheesy deliciousness.

2. Al’s South Street Café

Is there anything easier than subs? No utensils needed. When you get the last-minute urge to create an alfresco spread for your friends, order everyone’s favorite from this Boston classic. Al’s is known for their hefty sandwiches and cravable flavors. Pair their famous “South Street Special,” made with extra lean prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, basil and plum tomatoes topped with just enough olive oil and balsamic vinegar, with a glass of vermentino, whose tart green apple and lemon flavors, will stand up to the tomatoes.

3. Genki Ya

There is something about warm weather that makes us want to eat cold things and when it comes to ordering delivery, sushi is a perfect option. Genki Ya has been serving up beautiful rolls from its Chinatown location for years. Consider searching for them next time you get the urge for a California roll or two. Luckily, rosé is an expert pairing, so if you get invited to someone’s roof deck you will know exactly what to bring.

Have a friend who loves pad Thai? Bring a bottle of sauvignon blanc as well! Order your favorites from Thai Basil, put a bottle on ice and settle in for the evening.

5. Regina Pizzeria

It’s a classic for a reason. There are many pizza delivery options out there, but Regina Pizzeria is a Boston favorite. Having started in Boston’s historic North End, Regina now has many locations and many of them are on GrubHub! What you order for toppings is going to determine which wine you should bring. A classic cheese pizza calls for a pinot or chianti, pepperoni needs a tannic red and veggie needs a Barbera d'Alba.

6. Mela Indian Restaurant

Finally, if you are craving some spice, order from Mela Indian Restaurant. Serving all the classics that you know and love, this local Indian restaurant is always a great choice. And while you’re at it, use up the rest of that bottle of Barbera d'Alba that was left over from pizza night because it pairs exceptionally well with chicken tikka masala as well!
