An industrial no-man’s land has morphed into Somerville’s one-stop shopping destination, with discount outlets (Lucky Brand, Saks off 5th, Pendleton, Adidas, Nike), beauty salons and eateries, including the waterside Legal on the Mystic, the newest outpost of the Legal Seafoods chain, and a beer garden. The Legoland Discovery Center and the movie theater are the principal family draws, while extras such as regular music performances and outdoor fitness classes encourage warm-weather socializing.
