Promising 'rock star haircuts by Sandy Poirier', this hip urban salon in gritty South Boston is a little out of the way, but it's still your best bet for that coveted Joan Jett circa 1982 look. A far cry from the chichi beauty parlors of Newbury Street, Shag has garnered national attention (including fashion magazine spreads and a segment on MTV), and perhaps that's why you can expect to pay so much for a cut. High ceilings, stripped-down decor, and a funky clientele add to the salon's air of relaxed, self-assured cool.
