For a few days each summer, Boston Harbor trades its familiar skyline for a forest of towering masts as historic sailing ships from around the world arrive in the city. Sail Boston brings together tall ships, naval vessels, and international crews for a waterfront celebration that blends maritime tradition with public festivities. Visitors can explore many of the ships, watch crews at work, and take in cultural programming and live entertainment along the harbor. One of the defining moments is the Parade of Sail, when the fleet makes its entrance into Boston in a striking procession before docking throughout the festival. Held as part of the United States' 250th anniversary commemorations, the event offers a rare chance to experience vessels that are seldom seen together while highlighting Boston's longstanding connection to the sea.
