Craig Robinson’s comedy has always had a musical streak, and that is a big part of what makes his live shows worth catching. Best known for his work on The Office and a long list of film and TV roles, Robinson brings a mix of stand-up, crowd work and music to the stage rather than sticking to a conventional comedy set. The live format gives him plenty of room to play, especially when he gets behind the keyboard. His shows can move quickly between jokes and songs, with the audience becoming part of the rhythm. For anyone who knows Robinson mainly as an actor, seeing him in a room built around his own material is a different experience. It is loose, interactive and more unpredictable than a standard theater comedy show, making this a solid pick for a night when you want your stand-up with a little more variety.
