Fan Expo Boston is the kind of weekend that turns the city into a magnet for every flavor of fandom. The guest list always manages to surprise, but the real fun is in the details: the impromptu cosplay meetups in the hallways, the wild mashups at the Sketch Duels, and the chance to spot a screen legend grabbing a coffee between panels. It’s a sprawling, high-energy sprawl of comics, anime, gaming and horror, but it never feels overwhelming—just densely packed with the sort of moments you’ll be talking about for months. The vendor floor is a treasure hunt, whether you’re after rare manga, vintage toys or that one print you didn’t know you needed. If you’re the type who likes to people-watch, this is peak season. Bring your sharpest questions for the Q&As and your best Sharpie for autographs.
