A new addition to Bristol's thriving cocktail bar scene arrives on Friday July 24 in the form of Her Majesty's Secret Service, just off Whiteladies Road in Clifton.

Bristol is already blessed with some of the best and most interesting cocktail bars in the country, with a solid selection of secret speakeasies and quality quaffing spots scattered across town. HMSS looks like a worthy addition to a growing scene, promising cutting-edge creative mixology in a distinctly British themed setting.

Situated on the site of the old Charlie's Bar, HMSS's interior stays true to it's name, with an air of wartime espionage running through everything from the retro decor (complete with portrait of Winston Churchill and plenty of polished oak and aged leather furniture), to the passport-style menus offering an ever-changing selection of unique cocktails, punches and non-alcoholic 'faux-tails'.

The bar is the brainchild of London's Cocktail Trading Co, with a quartet of highly experienced bartenders and industry insiders uniting to create what they promise is a real labour of love, rather than just another attempt by that there London to grab a slice of the action over here in Bris.

Her Majesty's Secret Service is located at Whiteladies Gate, BS8 2PH; for enquiries call 07808 227662 - head down there from July 24 to try it out for yourself.
