Are you old enough to remember going to the bar and being able to order a round of four pints and still have change from a tenner? Good times.

No need to look back and feel sad, though – we have some news that might lift your ageing spirits.

This September, local brewery Bath Ales (whose HQ is in Warmley) celebrates the twentieth year since its first batch of bitter, Gem, was created, bearing the recognisable hare logo.

In order to celebrate this milestone, a number of participating Bath Ale venues in Bristol and Bath will be hosting a special Birthday Happy Hour, from 5-8pm on September 22. Appropriately, this means that a pint of Gem will cost you just £1.50 – the same as it did 20 years ago.

In Bristol, participating venues include the Graze Bar and Chophouse on Queen Square, The Wellington on Gloucester Road and Beerd on St Michael's Hill. If you fancy heading over to Bath, pubs The Hop Pole, The Salamander and The Swan will be taking part, along with the Bath branch of Graze - whose Cirencester branch will also be participating.

While there are a few T&Cs with this offer, they're not likely to spoil you fun - you can only buy two pints per customer per round, and the offer is only available for Loyal Hare Force loyalty card holders. However, getting one is simply a case of filling out a form.

Whatever next? Changing Snickers back to Marathon?

Bath Ales 20th Anniversary Happy Hour, Tuesday September 22, 5-8pm, participating venues only. Find more info here.
