From May 1 to May 9, city-wide food festival Food Connections returns for a second year with over 100 events of all shapes and sizes at venues across the city.

With lofty aims of changing how we think about and consume our food, Food Connections looks to celebrate those who grow, produce and supply what we eat - and the programme of events announced for this year looks set to do just that, with various street food markets, a cider trail and special BBC talks in the Bristol IMAX, as well as events organised by individuals across the city such as the planned Spice Festival on St Marks Road in Easton.

The May Bank Holiday weekend of May 2 - May 4 will see the city centre taken over by a barrel load of free and ticketed events including a special Harbourside market and a street food market in Millennium Square.

You can head here to download or view the full programme of events for this year - and below we've picked out some of the key happenings at Food Connections 2015. Enjoy.

Booze Forage Walk, Arnos Vale Cemetery, Bath Road BS4 3EW, £18
Forage through the woods and undergrowth of Arnos Vale on a guided booze-centric evening stroll. Learn the plants used in traditional ales, wines and spirits and take your own foraged booze home with you. Over 18s only, the walk starts from Spielman centre terrace at 7pm.

Tropical Coffee Rave, Extract Coffee Warehouse, Gatton Road BS2 9SH, £7.50
Wake up in style with an early-morning rinse-out at local roasters Extract's warehouse in St Werburghs, complete with Caribbean music and cracking coffee imported by sail ship and train by New Dawn Traders. Come ready to rave.

Slow Food International: Ark Of Taste, The Orangery, Friday May 1, £40
Four of the UK's top chefs combine forces to produce a special feast for Slow Food International's Ark Of Taste, which aims to protect ingredients from around the world that are threatened by extinction. Tom Hunt, Giorgio Locatelli, Thomasina Miers and Paula McIntyre have all selected special ingredients and will be explaining their choices on the night.

Cuisine + Colour, At Bristol Foyer BS1 5DB, Friday May 1, 7pm-11pm, £42
Now this is a unique, if slightly bizarre idea - join a four-course sit-down meal in the foyer of At Bristol where you're impelled to use the tablecloth and bibs provided as a canvas. You'll also get late-night access to At Bristol and a digital exhibition of the event will follow at The Watershed.

It's A Bristol Ting, Lakota, Upper York Street, BS2 8QN, Sunday May 3, free
The sounds and tastes of Bristol combine at legendary nightclub Lakota for this free all-day event. Bristol Eats will be bringing the food - think Jamaican jerk chicken and Lebanese falafels - while local street artists and DJs will be providing plenty of aural and visual stimulation, for a showcase of all that's good on the streets of Bristol.

Déjeuner Disco, Big Chill Bar, Small Street, BS1 1DE, Friday May 1, 12.30-1.30pm, free
Get yourself ready for the weekend early and break the lunchtime monotony at the Big Chill Bar at this free daytime dance event, with music provided by local selector DJ Dubboy.

Harbourside Market, harbourisde, Saturday May 9, 10am-6pm, free
Head to the harbour for a special bigger-than-ever market around Bristol's waterfront and stretching out along Narrow Quay, with numerous stalls offering fresh produce and street food.
