This Saturday February 14 sees the opening of the Bristol 2015 Lab on the harbourside, with the aim of providing a focal point and information centre for the many initiatives, events and activities planned to celebrate our city's status as European Green Capital 2015.

The Lab will also double up as a shop, stocking local products from Made In Bristol and a rotating schedule of artworks, which will reflect the five key Green Capital themes - nature, transport, food, resources and energy. First up will be 'transport', so expect prints and gifts featuring classically Bristol ways of moving around such as ferries, bicycles and, of course, hot air balloons, with the artists behind the work on sale on hand to talk you through your purchases.

Launching on the first Saturday of half-term, the opening week will feature daily family-friendly activities such as meeting Bristol bee experts and the opportunity to buy your Pancake Day ingredients direct from local suppliers and producers. Check the Bristol 2015 website for more details on next week's activities and the Lab itself.
