On Friday November 6, Cabot Circus will be lighting the way to the festive season with its Christmas light switch on.

Cirque Bijou

Before the shopping centre is illuminated, there's a range of entertainment planned. From 4.45pm, there'll be a festive choir in The Galleries, followed by a lit procession of a hundred glowing umbrellas that will make their way through Broadmead and into Quakers Friars.

Bristol Hippodrome

At 6pm is the big switch on, which will be conducted by 'Star Wars', 'Harry Potter' and 'Willow' star Warwick Davies, along with comedian Andy Ford – who are both starring in this year's Bristol Hippodrome's Christmas pantomime, 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'.

Promising to add some death defying excitement to the event, Bristol performance group Cirque Bijou will be impressing the crowds with a high-wire tight rope walk, exploding confetti balloons and more.

The evening will also feature music from artist Alyusha, who'll be singing while dressed in a giant 10 meter kimono.
