The ever adventurous and firmly forward-thinking Simple Things festival returns to Bristol for a fourth instalment this October, with a musical menu that looks as diverse and captivating as ever.

Taking place at various venues around Bristol, including Lakota, Coroner's Court, The Old Firestation and O2 Academy, and with an opening Friday-night concert at Colston Hall, Simple Things lets you enjoy some of music's most invigorating acts across many of Bristol's best venues.

Canadian post-rockers God Speed You! Black Emperor take centre stage for the opening concert on Friday 23 October, warming things up for a full Saturday programme that includes Battles, Wire, Factory Floor, Penguin Cafe, Liturgy and Romare playing live, and DJs such as Chi-town house legend Ron Trent, Mike Skinner and Objekt doing their thing digitally.

Tickets for the opening concert are priced at £23 and can be bought here, while Saturday tickets will cost you £29.50 and are available here.
