Michelin-starred chef Josh Eggleton has partnered with Bristol Sport for a special pop-up sports village being erected at Ashton Gate ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

Eggleton, known as the chef patron at the award-winning Pony & Trap in Chew Magna and a finalist for the BBC's 'Great British Menu', is also part of the team that bring the popular Eat Drink Bristol Fashion event to Queen Square.

Two of Eat Drink Bristol Fashion's signature tipis will be use to transform the outside area of Ashton Gate's new South Stand, establishing a Heineken and Butcombe beer garden for the five-week duration of the Rugby World Cup. Inside, an England inspired tapas menu created by Eggleton will be served.

Of course, you aren't just there for the food and drink – you'll want to watch some sport too. The host nation games will be shown on two massive screens that are part of Ashton Gate's newly completed Sport's Bar & Grill. In addition to a large external LED screen, the Sports Bar also features a massive internal screen – the largest of its kind in the country.

The Sports Bar & Grill will be ready by Friday September 18, to coincide with the opening ceremony and England's game against Fiji and the sports village will remain in place until the final game on October 31

Eggleton commented: 'My first ever job was selling Bristol Rugby matchday programmes for my dad’s printing company and its great to see the development finally completing and giving the city of Bristol a stadium to be proud of.'

Andrew Billingham, Bristol Sport’s CEO added: 'If you haven’t got a ticket to Twickenham I think Ashton Gate will be one of the best venues to watch the World Cup.'
