Mendoza is wine, landscape, culture, and hospitality, enjoyed with every visit. Since 2005, it has been part of the Great Wine Capitals network, positioning it among the world’s leading wine tourism destinations. Each year, the province reaffirms this role through the contest that celebrates the best of its wine-related tourism experiences: the Best Of Mendoza’s Wine Tourism.
In its twentieth edition, the awards once again highlighted best practices, from accommodation and gastronomy proposals to sustainable projects, art, architecture, and landscapes. The ceremony also revealed a new map of wineries and ventures that inspire travelers to toast, discover, and experience everything Mendoza has to offer beyond a glass. Highlights of the evening included a record number of participating projects, one double gold, and one double bronze.

As every year, the top winners will represent the province at the International Gala of the Best Of Wine Tourism in France at the end of the year, where the world’s best will be chosen.
Best Of Mendoza’s Wine Tourism Awards: The International Competition of the World’s Wine Capital
This international contest is part of the Great Wine Capitals network, which brings together the 12 most prestigious wine regions on the planet. In Mendoza, it has been held since 2005 and serves as a global showcase demonstrating that both winemaking and gastronomy are essential elements of local identity.

Each edition awards Bronze, Silver, and Gold in the following categories: Accommodation, Architecture & Landscape, Art & Culture, Innovative Experiences, Sustainable Practices, Restaurants or Culinary Experiences, Wine Tourism Services, and Small Wineries.
Gold winners (except for the last, local-only category) go on to compete in the international ceremony, which this year will be held in Bordeaux, France, in November. Notably, in the 2025 edition, Trapiche’s Estación 83 won the Global Gold, placing Mendoza at the top of the Innovative Experiences category.

The ceremony, held on September 19, marked a record with 121 registered projects. Of these, 111 were selected by a jury of 17 representatives from the press, academia, and the private sector to move forward in the competition, as highlighted by Gabriela Testa, president of Mendoza’s Tourism Board (Emetur), in her speech.

Great Wine Capitals: The Network Behind the World’s Wine Capital
Since 1999, the Great Wine Capitals network has connected the world’s leading wine cities. It was created as a global community to share experiences, boost tourism, and promote wine culture as an economic and cultural driver.
Today, it includes 12 internationally renowned regions representing both the Old and New Worlds of wine: Adelaide (Australia), Bilbao–Rioja (Spain), Bordeaux (France), Cape Town (South Africa), Hawke’s Bay (New Zealand), Lausanne (Switzerland), Mainz (Germany), Mendoza (Argentina), Porto (Portugal), San Francisco–Napa Valley (USA), Valparaíso–Casablanca Valley (Chile), and Verona (Italy).

The network’s mission is to strengthen each capital through the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and projects, stimulating innovation and business opportunities. It also promotes international campaigns that position each region in the global spotlight of wine tourism. For Mendoza, being part of this community means showcasing to the world not only the quality of its wines, but also the strength of its landscapes, culture, and people.
