The Best After-Work Spot in Buenos Aires Is at La Cabrera

La Cabrera, one of the most renowned parrillas in Argentina, is entering a new era—where cocktails, crafted by none other than Tato Giovannoni, take center stage. A new spot to spend the afternoon in Palermo? We say yes.

You close your laptop, put your phone away, and head outside. The warm afternoon air wraps around you: the thermometer reads 28°C, the sun begins to dip behind the buildings, and Palermo prepares for its best hour. It’s hot, but the good kind—the kind that calls for something fresh in hand. The sidewalks buzz with movement, with conversations stretching on and glasses clinking. It’s that time of year when Buenos Aires afternoons become the perfect excuse for an after-work drink.

There may be more places to go than times you can actually coordinate with friends or coworkers to meet up. But few combine excellent food, a relaxed vibe, and signature cocktails. This isn’t a new venue—it’s a classic that just added new experiences to its lineup.

Tato Giovannoni Brings His Signature Cocktails to the Country’s Most Famous Grill

At La Cabrera, the Palermo parrilla led by Gastón Riveira, the after-work hour has become an essential part of the day. For foodies, it’s already an unmissable stop. Now, new offerings aim to bring La Cabrera to new audiences—those seeking more than just a great meal.

To its already outstanding flavors, La Cabrera has added cocktail excellence. Tato Giovannoni, Argentina’s leading mixologist, has joined the team to design a menu of five drinks that highlight local ingredients and flavors.

“Meat is our passion, but we wanted to add a new chapter to our story—and who better than Tato to create it,” said chef Gastón Riveira. Giovannoni added, “These cocktails were created to complement a unique experience, with nods to our culture and crafted to enhance La Cabrera’s proposal.”

Which Cocktails to Try at La Cabrera

The Highball del Abuelo is a great choice, made with Príncipe de los Apóstoles gin, Hesperidina, and tonic. To whet your appetite before dinner, try the Chola Spritz—a refreshing mix of Fernet, Prosecco, soda, mint, and a barspoon of Legui. If you’re just in the mood for a drink, the Rosa Mosqueta Negroni blends Apóstoles Rosa Mosqueta gin, Giovannoni Rosso vermouth, and Campari.

After-Work with 40% Off: One More Reason to Toast in Palermo

This new cocktail lineup joins another great reason to visit: from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., the entire La Cabrera menu is 40% off, so you can enjoy your drink with one of their signature dishes.

If you’re into sharing plates, pair a Martini Torrontés (Príncipe de los Apóstoles gin and Giovannoni Torrontés vermouth) with a burrata, grilled sweetbreads, or La Cabrera empanadas. If you’re up for an early dinner, the Penicilin by Chola (Fernet Chola, lemon juice, ginger honey) is the perfect match for a skirt steak with arugula and Parmesan or a vegetable brochette.
