All hope may not be lost. Following the announcement, several parties have expressed interest in ensuring The Creamery continues serving its signature scoops.

Founded in 2011, The Creamery, which has established itself as one of Cape Town's most recognised handmade ice cream brands, will close all its branches in the coming month.
Known for handmade ice cream and unique flavours, including key lime pie, malva and custard, tiramisu, and more, The Creamery has built a loyal customer base since its inception.
Operating for 15 years and founded by former chef Kate Schrire and business partner Marianne Visser, The Creamery was acquired by the Food Lover's Market group during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In an official statement, a Food Lover's Market spokesperson shares the reasoning behind the closure of The Creamery.
"The Creamery became part of our business during the Covid-19 pandemic, when we acquired the brand from its previous owners at a particularly challenging time. While we are proud to have been part of its journey, our business has evolved over the years and The Creamery is no longer a strategic focus for us."
Following the news, long-standing customers of The Creamery took to social media to share their sadness, showcasing the impact that the ice cream chain has had.
"The Creamery has built a loyal community over many years, and we have seen the outpouring of support since the announcement," adds a Food Lover's Market spokesperson.

It may not be all doom and gloom; in the flurry of support shared for The Creamery, Food Lover's Market Group has also received interest from several parties who see value in the brand and have reached out to discuss potential opportunities.
"While it is still too early to comment on any specific outcome, we are pleased to be exploring these opportunities and remain hopeful that there may be a future for The Creamery in some form."
While it may be up in the air if The Creamery will continue to operate following this announcement, Food Lovers Market Group has expressed that in the meantime its immediate focus is "supporting our employees through this transition."
With the closure of all four branches on the horizon, here is the must-know info to grab your last scoop.
