Sad news for Jill Scott fans this Monday afternoon - she will no longer be performing in Cape Town or Pretoria.

The three-time Grammy winner has had to cancel her trip to Mzansi due to "unforeseen circumstances".

While this will no doubt be heartbreaking news for fans of the singer, the team behind the tour has revealed that all hope is not lost in seeing her live.

A statement released by Showtime Management on Facebook reads: 'We regret to announce that the South African performances of Jill Scott’s To Whom This May Concern World Tour, scheduled for 7 November in Pretoria and 11 November in Cape Town, have been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

'Jill and her team are exploring the possibility of returning to South Africa at a future date. South Africa has always held a special place in Jill’s heart, and she remains committed to returning and reconnecting with her fans as soon as possible.

'We understand how disappointing this news is and sincerely apologise to all fans who were looking forward to the performances.

'All ticket holders will automatically receive a full refund, with no action required. Please keep an eye on your inbox for further communication from Ticketmaster regarding the refund process.

'Thank you for your understanding and continued support.'
