After a delay in its initial opening last year, this weekend saw the vibrant opening of the new market.

Weekends in Cape Town are perfect for a bit of market indulgence, and this weekend saw the opening of the Bo-Kaap Market at the top of the famous neighbourhood on the edge of the city centre.
With live performances and a variety of local goods, the city of Cape Town's setup aims to expand tourism's positive impact on one of the oldest living cultural communities in the city.
"Every stall, song and spice has a story. And the best part? It’s not just a one-time thing – the Bo-Kaap Market will be a weekend market going forward!" the city confirmed.

Just walking through the neighbourhood's colourful streets, usually the key drawcard as visitors look to capture a snap of iconic homes, you can enjoy delicious Cape Malay flavours passed down through generations, along with a wealth of interesting entrepreneurial ventures from those who live and work here.
