The Beyond Limits breath workshop is just the thing for you. Because let's face it, a raver out in District Six isn't exactly chill, and the Rocky Horror Show at Theatre on the Bay is sure to be high energy. But all in all, it's a good time to be in the city.
Here are our suggestions for the best things to get you out and about this weekend, from Friday 17 April to Sunday 19 April, across the Mother City and surrounding suburbs.

The DHL Stormers host Connacht Rugby in a United Rugby Championship fixture at DHL Stadium. This match marks the Stormers’ penultimate regular-season home game in Cape Town as they push for home-ground advantage in the playoffs. A free MyCiTi shuttle service will run for match ticket holders from Civic Centre and Thibault Square stations starting at 11:15, with the last return bus departing the Green Point precinct at 18:10. Parking in designated City of Cape Town areas opens at 10:45, with additional paid parking available nearby.

The Rocky Horror Show continues its run at Theatre on the Bay throughout April. Pieter Toerien's production features the Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy in one of the most energetic audience-participation experiences on Cape Town's theatre calendar. If you haven't been yet, this weekend is a solid window to take it all in.
This event is all about slowing down, focusing on your breath, and releasing the stress of the week or life, quite frankly, while gently reconnecting with your intentions for what’s ahead. Guided by international wellness expert and breathwork facilitator Aimée Buchler, this experience is designed for those looking to return to themselves in a safe, supportive, and calming environment.
Back by popular demand, Bed By 10 offers ravers over 30 a guilt-free afternoon and early evening out — all the music, none of the next-day consequences. The concept is simple and the crowd deeply appreciates it. An increasingly beloved fixture on Cape Town's nightlife calendar, and one of the more characterful Saturday options of the month.
If you’ve wanted to step inside one of South Africa’s most historic military sites, now’s your chance. Visitors are encouraged to explore naval vessels on guided tours, including a Type 209 submarine. Expect live demonstrations, impressive capability displays, and performances by the SA Navy Band.

The Candlelight concert series returns to Norval Foundation for two back-to-back intimate performances on Saturday evening. A string quartet performs Vivaldi's Four Seasons in the first session, followed by a tribute to ABBA and more later in the evening. The Norval Foundation's gallery and sculpture garden are worth arriving early for — the setting does most of the work before a single note is played.
Cape Town City FC face Hungry Lions FC in a Motsepe Foundation Championship clash at Athlone Stadium. The match forms part of Cape Town City’s campaign for promotion from the national first division. Entry is free, but spectators must secure seats through Webtickets.
Join the Zandvlei CWAC bird count and help survey the rich birdlife of the Zandvlei estuary. Meet at the main gate of Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve before 08:00. Everyone is welcome, whether experienced birders or complete beginners. If you are new to birding, you will be placed in a group that will help you learn quickly and easily. There is always something new to see or hear.

Killarney Raceway runs another motorsport event on Saturday morning in Table View, making it a reliable high-speed option for the Northern Suburbs this weekend. A short drive from Durbanville and Tygervalley, and a notably different kind of Saturday morning from the usual wine farm.
For a family-friendly event, GrandWest’s Ice Station will host the Ice Hockey World Championship Division III, Group A, bringing teams from around the world to the Mother City. South Africa’s men’s national ice hockey team, the Rhinos, will face Mexico, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Thailand, Turkmenistan, and Türkiye, with all of South Africa’s matches taking place at 8pm.
A relaxed wine experience exploring the bespoke vineyards of the Northern side of the Mother City, from Diemersdal to Meerendal wine estate. There is even a cannon firing experience at Signal Gun to look forward to.
Party band Boston Tea Party returns to Aandklas to celebrate the golden era of pop-punk — music from when your fringe was too long and your feelings were extremely public. A brilliant Saturday night out in Stellenbosch for anyone who grew up on blink-182 and has never entirely moved on.
For those willing to make the drive from Cape Town to Stellenbosch, Muratie's wine walk on Saturday is a gentle, scenic morning activity combining fresh air, estate terrain, and good wine. A worthwhile early-day excursion before an afternoon or evening back in the city.
