After a sold-out run at Teatro da Comuna, in Lisbon, "Ecrã Total – life behind the apps" takes to the stage at Auditório Carlos Avilez on 7 and 8 July.

How many notifications does it take to shake up a marriage? In "Ecrã Total – life behind the apps", probably more than we would like to admit. The stage comedy by Maria Clementina and Miguel Lambertini is returning to theatres, this time in Estoril, after running throughout November in Lisbon and stopping off in Albufeira.
On 7 and 8 July, at 9pm, the show arrives at Auditório Carlos Avilez for a special return season supported by Cascais City Council and Turismo de Cascais. On stage are Mário and Ana, married for 15 years and separated not by some great tragedy, but by routine, secrets and the screens that have found their way between them.
While waiting for a couples’ therapy appointment, everything that had been kept hidden begins to surface – or, at the very least, vibrate in someone’s pocket. Between messages, apps, notifications and a few inconvenient truths, "Ecrã Total" looks at human relationships in multitasking mode and at this hyperconnected life where we are always online, even when we should be present.
Guided by the watchful Algoritmo, Maria Clementina and Miguel Lambertini shift between several characters and give voice to the apps invading our smartphones. There is humour, marital drama and musical moments, all in a proudly analogue show about the dictatorship of the digital world.
The text, music, performance and production are by Maria Clementina and Miguel Lambertini, with staging by Hugo Franco. Tickets cost €16 and are available from Ticketline, Cascais Visitor Center and the usual outlets. Viver Cascais cardholders get 20 percent off.
