Some daring entrepreneurs ventured into opening new restaurants amid the pandemic, even during the confinement period. One such example is Chutnify, which arrived in Cascais with a menu full of Indian specialties meant for sharing and finger-licking, a reputation it earned in Lisbon. Located on Rua Amarela, it marks the sixth addition to the family, which already includes two restaurants in Berlin, one in Porto, and two in Lisbon. "We've been dreaming for a long time of bringing our story to this village and finally being able to share true Indian traditions from our perspective of a modern kitchen full of heritage and spices," says founder Aparna Aurora in a statement. The ambiance and decor resemble those of its sibling spaces, with vibrant colors and designs inspired by typical Indian matchboxes. The 110 m2 space is divided between a bar lounge area and a comfortable dining room. A kitchen in the middle is open for all to see. The menu stays true to Chutnify's original offerings, featuring appetizers like samosas, main dishes with curries from various regions, and specialties grilled in the tandoor oven. To sweeten the deal, there are chocolate samosas and a traditional Indian dessert made with carrots and dried fruits. For now, customers can either pick up their orders through take-away service at the restaurant or opt for home delivery, available through Uber Eats and the restaurant's own delivery service, covering a broad area in Cascais and surrounding areas.
