Pedro Patê is a young boy thoroughly fed up with his peculiar fate: as the son of two opera singers, he literally lives inside an opera. Exhausted by an endless barrage of arias, cavatinas, and intermezzos, he dreams of becoming an illusionist so he can make the singing vanish with a snap of his fingers. That is until a series of unexpected twists forces him to rethink his take on bel canto. Featuring music by conductor Martim Sousa Tavares, a libretto by Ana Lázaro, and directed by Ricardo Neves-Neves, O Anel do Unicórnio (The Unicorn’s Ring) arrives at the stage at Auditório Carlos Avillez (Academia das Artes do Estoril), inviting kids and parents alike to discover how going to the opera can actually be a whole lot of fun.
