Brunch, massages, mini breaks… There are plenty of ways to celebrate Mother’s Day, and the best ones are all about giving the gift of quality time. In Cascais and the surrounding area, several places are laying on plans that combine good food and wellbeing – all to be enjoyed as a family, with no rush whatsoever.

Brunch and spa at Evolution Cascais-Estoril

A generous meal and a spa moment with a sea view – that’s the plan at Evolution Cascais-Estoril on 3 May. The brunch (12.30–15.30, €65 per person / €32.50 for children aged 4 to 12) features a selection that brings together breakfast classics, hot dishes and a dessert station where the classic – but always impressive – chocolate fountain won’t be missing. To go with it: sparkling wine, mimosas, bellinis, wines, beer, juices and coffee, all set to the sound of live music.

The experience also includes a few thoughtful touches for the occasion: flowers, a chocolate with the message “Thank you, Mum”, and a postcard for anyone who wants to write something more personal. Guests will also receive a voucher with 10% off treatments at the Spa Wellness by SAYANNA. For those looking to go a step further, there’s the Brunch & Wellness Escape option (€90), which adds access to the Thermal Escape at the hotel spa. Here, the focus shifts: slow down and make the most of the relaxation circuit overlooking the sea.

A massage at Lawrence’s Hotel

Lawrence’s Hotel in Sintra is the oldest hotel in the Iberian Peninsula – and it’s long mastered the art of hospitality. It’s no surprise, then, that dates like Mother’s Day don’t go unnoticed. That said, the hotel has put together a special offer available until the end of April. What’s on the table? A moment of relaxation at the hotel spa – a voucher for two (€144), which includes two 35-minute massages and a toast with two drinks of your choice: house wine, draught beer or tea. It’s a gift designed for mums who favour experiences over material things.

A getaway at Penha Longa Resort

Penha Longa Resort is marking Mother’s Day with a weekend programme designed to slow things down and put family time front and centre. It includes accommodation with breakfast (between 28 April and 4 May), the Sunday Feast experience on Sunday (€65 per person, drinks not included) and 20% off spa treatments.

And a toast to mums

If wine is more your mum’s thing, there’s a plan to match. On 3 May, the A Gerência group’s restaurants – Malacopa, Sr. Manuel, Residente, La Contessa and José Ignácio – will be treating all mums to a bottle of Descabido white wine with a special Mother’s Day label. A small gesture to mark the moment at the table and to take home afterwards.

A walk and brunch at Sheraton Cascais Resort

Sheraton Cascais Resort is offering two ways to celebrate Mother’s Day, both centred on the essentials: time around the table and moments of wellbeing. On 3 May, the resort will be serving a special buffet brunch, with live bossa nova and activities for mums and children, designed to bring the family together in a relaxed setting (€69 per person). For those after something more complete, there’s an experience that combines brunch, a nature walk and a 25-minute facial treatment at the spa, extending the celebration with a moment of relaxation (€125).

Another brunch, this time at Hotel Cascais Miragem

On 3 May, the Oásis restaurant at Hotel Cascais Miragem will host a special edition of its brunch dedicated to Mother’s Day. On the day, the usual weekend buffet will be served — with a little extra: a welcome cocktail, the Strawberry Rosé Spritz, and a flower to mark the occasion. Served between 12.30 and 15.00, the brunch costs €50 per adult, with 50% off for children aged 5 to 12 and complimentary for those up to 4 years old.

And a creative ceramics workshop

To sidestep the obvious, Cerâmica Café has a plan that blends creativity, quality time and a personal touch. On 3 May, there’s a special ceramic painting session dedicated to Mother’s Day, where children (and mums) can get hands-on and create unique pieces to take home. Along the way, there’s a drink included and a surprise for every mum. It’s a laid-back plan with limited spots, so booking ahead is a good idea. Find out more here.
